About Awards
The Lakshmi Ammal Research Excellence Awards 2026 aim to honor and celebrate remarkable achievements in research across four distinct categories: Science Faculty and Arts & Humanities Faculty, school and Arts and Science College Students. These awards are instituted to recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, innovation, and scholarly impact in advancing knowledge and contributing meaningfully to their disciplines. Our mission is to foster a culture of research excellence by acknowledging faculty members whose work inspires students, influences academic communities, and addresses societal needs through innovative inquiry.

A maximum of 2 students per team is allowed.

Shortlisted candidates will be notified via WhatsApp or email, depending on the category.
8. Is there a final round of presentation?
Yes, most categories (especially student and department awards) include a final round involving a model/project demonstration or presentation before a jury.
9. Is there a video submission requirement?
Yes. Some categories (e.g., Best Teacher, Best Department) require a 3–5 minute video showcasing work, teaching, or achievements.
10. Can more than one faculty member from a department apply?
Yes. Multiple eligible members from the same department can apply, provided they meet the respective criteria.
11. What are the evaluation criteria?
Each award has a points-based rubric. Categories include publications, academic roles, mentorship, funded projects, innovations, etc., totaling 100 points.
12. Is there a deadline for application submission?
Yes. Please refer to the official announcement or website for the specific submission deadline.
