About Department

The Department of Commerce (Aided) was commenced in the year 1966. B.Com., course in the aided scheme was started since 1972-1973. M.Com. (CA) Course was started in the year 2006-2007 under unaided Scheme. In addition, B.Com (CA) course was started in the unaided scheme since 2008-2009 under Self-Financing Scheme. The rapid growth of the Department of Commerce is reflected in its expansion as well as novelty in its academic programmes. M.Phil., was commenced from 2010-2011. After having fully equipped in all respects, the department was affiliated and approved by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli as Research centre for Ph.D., in Commerce since the year 2018-2019. The department has achieved remarkable academic performance, marched steadily and crossed milestones in achieving academic excellence in the field of Commerce education and research activities.
