About the Programme

The Bachelor of Botany is a three-year programme that began in 1972 and it consists of six semesters of six months duration each .The Master of Botany is a two year programme that began in 2020 and consists of four semesters of six months duration each. The programme follows Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and OBE Pattern.

Mission

➤   To foster an environment of excellence by providing a comprehensive set of        courses in plant sciences that enhances the understanding, depth of knowledge        and technical competency of the students.
➤  To provide the students competence for entry-level research and teaching        positions in biological sciences.
➤   To inculcate the students with an environment that fosters the development of       appropriate scientific vocabulary, reasoning skills, and effective oral and written        communication abilities for students.
➤ To create a holistic understanding of the allied subjects through        interdisciplinary courses.

Objective

➤ To provide quality education in the fields of Classical Botany, Plant       Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, Molecular Biology and other related fields.
➤  To produce quality manpower that can fulfill the needs of tomorrow and       compete in national and international area of research and development.
➤  To create awareness among the students regarding self-employment and       generation of other sources of the income through modern farming.
➤  To promote and create the students for higher education and research        aptitude.
➤   To create sense of ethical moral values and social temperament among the       students for good citizens.
➤   To develop skill in practical work, experiments, equipment’s and laboratory        use.
