About Department

The Department of English is one of the oldest departments of this pioneering Institution. Our UG programme was introduced in 2011 & PG in 2014. The department has highly qualified and committed faculty with the thirst for research and creativity. Apart from the teaching of Elective English, General English and Communication Skills in many disciplines, the department enhances the linguistics competence and creative acumen of students. The Department has organized International Seminar, UGC, CIIL & ICSSR Sponsored National Seminars, Workshops, Inter-College Competitions with various events like drama, Quiz, Poetry recitation, Dance, Creative writings and several other activities to develop the students’ talents. The department encourages the final year students to organize Literary Jamboree, an intra-department event that showcases our department Students talents, which in turn encourages them to be the winners of Inter -College competitions. Also, we regularly organize extension Guest lectures and various other literary activities by inviting renowned speakers from time to time for the benefit of young learners.NET/SET coaching is given to the PG students regularly. We have a grand Language Laboratory with 60 systems and software to enhance English Language Skills among the final year students. These laboratory hours are very much useful for training students towards their placement. The department has signed MoUs with premier Institutions for the benefit of the students. Our department has produced efficient graduates who work as Language trainers in ILM Bangalore, Software companies, Educational Institutions and other famous Companies
